Hi, my name is Ella. I’m a writer, curator and social media manager. I’m obsessed with fashion feuds, socio-politics, films and online discourse. I’m also a strong believer that the only way out is through.
So Julia is a self-proclaimed magazine and a creative child of mine. There was a point in my life when I felt as though the creative industry was gatekept from me, and me alone, for a reason I’m still yet to figure out. Pretending that I was already “in” was my way to cope with the discouragement, until it eventually landed me a job.
Now that I get to do creative work for a living, every time I sit down to write for So Julia, I am reminded that spare time, health and passion towards anything are in fact privilege.
